Sonnet Unos - Shall I Compare Thee to a Rainy Day

Shall I compare thee to a rainy day?

Thou art far warmer and much less damp!

Silver-veined the clouds, bladed winds doth flay,

And sun-shaft lanced, each drop’s tantrummed stamp!

Sometime, too fierce, gloom’nous heaven shines,

As parched soil’s pierced, and so is nourished.

Our fair green world see! Unfurls to arise,

‘Neath rainbow’s embrace, blazed flowers flourish.

But thou doth not need skies eternal grey,

Nor your balm be born, of daggered shivers.

In your cheery smile, despair’s betrayed!

Though I’m cosy-dry, life flows, unwithered.

So long then rain-bright, sun garbed lantern shrouds.

So long as Boo is, what use sodden clouds?
